Todd from Nova’s 2023 Litter

Current Litter

Royalborda currently have no puppies.

We do not currently have plans for 2024, however there could be considerations depending on interest Late 2024. If you would be interested in adding a Royalborda puppy to your family please contact us via Facebook or email.

Our Puppies

All our puppies are born and raised inside our home and yard. Due to the wellbeing of our puppies we do not allow visits prior to 6 weeks of age, however following us on Facebook and Instagram will allow new owners to view the puppies via photos and videos. If you are attending a 6-week-puppy-visit the outdoor puppy yard is visible and available for exploration.

New owners will not know which puppy is theirs until 8 weeks of age as we home them based on temperament matching with the family, as well as keeping pick of litter ourselves. Sometimes it is not clear which puppy we will keep so puppy owners should not expect to know which puppy is theirs until 8 weeks of age. When they are born you place a deposit on a puppy knowing you will get one, not which one. If you are not happy with this arrangement please do not inquire.

The puppies are weaned onto a mixture of Leading Raw patties, Royal Canin dry food, raw goats milk, fresh meat and bones. Full details of what the puppies are used to are given to future families in advance so the same diet can be followed for the first few weeks and any unnecessary tummy upsets can be avoided. Changing water, location, and leaving their litter-mates and mum are all stressful enough without suddenly having a belly full of strange food!

We are passionate believers in the benefits of raising litters in alignment with the Puppy Culture program, and follow the protocols and recommendations as closely as we can while still catering to each puppy and litter as individuals. We begin with ENS from their first week of life. They begin heading out for car rides at around 3 to 4 weeks of age. Then from 4 weeks they start to slowly get introduced to the rest of the household animals. They see and hear lawn mowers, whipper snippers, pressure cleaners and sprinklers. They get sniffed and licked and tiptoed around by our adult dogs. We start providing objects of new sounds and textures to get them used to different things, so you may see things like tarps in the background of photos/videos. Unshakable puppies are puppies that think everything they ever see is normal and nothing to be scared of.

What comes with our Puppies?

All puppies are registered with the ANKC through Dogs QLD on Limit Register with no approval provided to show the dog in conformation or breed from them granted with this registration. Limit Register puppies can still compete in all dog sports like obedience, rally-o, agility, flyball, dock dogs, trick competitions, scent work, lure coursing, and anything else your heart desires. Not only can they compete in dog sports, but we encourage it! All puppies are the same price regardless of gender, colour, markings, or any other varying factors.

Our puppies leave having received their first vaccination, microchip and worming every 2 weeks of their life up until the time they leave. Starting off the new owners with a great start is essential to us and as such new owners will receive food that the puppy is on that will last at least 2 weeks, a blanket covered in the scents of mum and littermates to help pacify them, a very detailed information folder we have built over our 15 years of breeding, and a comprehensive puppy pack filled with so many fun and exciting goodies!

Application

Rarely puppies will ever be "ready now/soon" .
Expect to wait patiently for at least a little while--or potentially a long while--for the dog your heart desires.

All potential owners are required to fill in our Questionnaire. In our puppy application we will ask about many facets of your family and lifestyle, as well as your knowledge about dogs and the breed you are enquiring about. We ask that you please be as detailed as possible and allow ample time to complete the application as it is the only thing we have to get to know you from in the first instance. We want for you to make a great and accurate first impression so that we can then progress with your application.

Please understand due to the many emails and Facebook messages we get sometimes messages may take a while to be responded to or slip through the cracks. Kayla handles all correspondence and she is also studying her Bachelor full time.

Previous Litters

Royalborda has been breeding border collies since 2006. We are dedicated to our breed and keeping up as much as we can with our previous puppies.

We love having our previous puppies back when their owners go away on holidays. Meanwhile we also hold get togethers with our puppy owners where we can all catch up and allow the dogs to play.
